Privacy Policy for WyreUP
Last Updated:
WyreUP ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our WyreUP Browser Extension (the "Extension") and the WyreUP MCP Tool Server (the "MCP Server"), collectively referred to as our "Services." Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access or use our Services.
1. Information We Collect
We aim to collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our Services.
WyreUP Browser Extension:
- Configuration Data: When you configure the Extension, such as setting up webhook names and URLs, this information is stored locally within your browser's storage. We do not transmit this configuration data to our servers.
- Usage Data (Locally Processed): The Extension accesses web page content (e.g., page URL, selected text, page content) only when you explicitly trigger an action (e.g., via context menu or popup). This data is sent directly from your browser to the webhook URL you have configured. It is not stored or logged by the Extension itself beyond the immediate processing required to send it to your webhook.
- No Personal Identification Information: The Extension does not collect personally identifiable information like your name, email address, or browsing history, beyond the specific data you choose to send to your webhooks.
WyreUP MCP Tool Server:
- Manifest File Data: If you use the MCP Server, it reads a local `wyreup.json` manifest file that you create and control. This file contains definitions for your tools, including names, descriptions, webhook endpoints, and schemas. This data remains on your local system or the server where you run the MCP Server.
- Tool Execution Logs (Optional & Local): If you enable debug mode (`--debug`), the MCP Server may log details of tool executions, including request and response data. These logs are stored locally on the machine running the MCP Server and are intended for your troubleshooting purposes. We do not collect these logs.
- No Centralized Data Collection: The MCP Server is designed to run locally or on your own infrastructure. We do not have access to your `wyreup.json` files or your tool execution data unless you explicitly share it with us (e.g., for support purposes).
Website (wyreup.com or similar):
- Analytics: We may use third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Plausible Analytics) to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. This helps us understand website traffic and usage. This information is typically aggregated and anonymized.
- Cookies: Our website may use cookies to enhance user experience. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information collected is used solely for the following purposes:
-
To Provide and Maintain Our Services:
- For the Extension: To enable you to configure and trigger webhooks with browser context.
- For the MCP Server: To enable you to expose your automations as agent-callable tools.
- To Improve Our Services: Aggregated and anonymized data from website analytics helps us understand user needs and improve our offerings.
- To Communicate With You (If you contact us): If you contact us for support or inquiries, we will use your contact information to respond.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to third parties.
Information may be disclosed under the following limited circumstances:
- By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety.
- Service Providers (Website Only): We may share aggregated, anonymized data with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you (e.g., website hosting, analytics), so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
Crucially, data processed by the WyreUP Browser Extension (sent to your webhooks) and the WyreUP MCP Tool Server (processed by your tools) is under your control and directed by your configurations. We do not access or manage this data flow beyond providing the software tools.
4. Data Security
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your information when you use our Services. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
- Local Storage: Extension configurations and MCP Server manifests are stored locally on your systems. The security of this data depends on the security of your own devices and environment.
- Data in Transit: When the Extension sends data to your webhooks, or the MCP Server communicates with your automation platforms, the security of that data in transit depends on your use of HTTPS and the security of your configured endpoints.
5. Data Retention
We do not retain your personal data through the Extension or MCP Server beyond what is necessary for their immediate operation as described above (e.g., local storage controlled by you, temporary data for async job processing on your MCP server).
For website analytics, data is retained according to the policies of the third-party analytics providers, typically in an aggregated and anonymized form.
6. Your Data Protection Rights
Since we primarily process data locally on your device or server, your rights to access, correct, or delete data largely pertain to the data you control within your own browser storage (for the Extension) or on your file system (for the MCP Server manifest and logs).
If you have any questions about your data or wish to make a request regarding information we might hold (e.g., from website interactions or support inquiries), please contact us.
7. Third-Party Links
Our Services or website may contain links to other websites or services that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
